WIP Wednesday: October 24th

20121024-081405.jpg While my blogging has been sparse, my knitting has been a bit better. I had a bit of a WIP-splosion when I moved in early September, and I am still working on those hastily started projects.

From the top we have: - Pomatomus socks for Carla - a crocheted stole (I'm about three rows in) - plain socks that have only been started and have only had 1 row knit on them - Juneberry shawl in a local wool that is similar to what I think Shelter must be like - Smile and Wave fingerless mitts - Flukra shawl in some Tosh Lace that I have been trying to knit for almost 2 years

So I think I need to get knitting, especially if I want to participate in the Tanis Fiber Arts KAL in November.

WIP Wednesday: August 15th

20120815-073121.jpg Now that the Ravellenic Games are over it is back to my previous knitting. I'm going to try to finish my plain (casserole) socks so that I can start a fingering weight pair to check the pattern.

My other priority is to finish the new bubbly cowl, which was a Christmas gift to my mom last year. The thing was she wanted to knit so I gave her the things to learn, but turns out she isn't that motivated so I needed to make the cowl before the weather turns cool.

The other two were cast on just before the games and I'll get to them at some point.

The one you don't see here is that green lace stole, which I finally frogged. It had two chances with the Muir pattern, time to try it on something else.

WIP Wednesday: August 1st

20120801-160950.jpg Okay, I'm trying out my iPhone Wordpress app to post this today, apologies for any oddities.

So I'm flying along on my Ravellenic socks. I'm really liking Kim's merino nylon sock base and the colors are just great.

My goal is to have both pairs done by the closing ceremonies of the London Olympics and with a lazy 4 day weekend coming up, I'm right on track to meet that challenge.

Where I've Been Sunday: July 1st

(Note: this was originally a WIP Wednesday post that I changed the tense on and posted on Sunday)

Oh wow, the days are flying by.

Between my new job, and finishing up the website for my old job (I did the content, real designers did the layout and logos and coding) and knitting like the wind blogging has fallen to the bottom of my to do list.

However, this knitting like the wind thing has been great.  I finished my Through the Loops Mystery Shawl KAL on Wednesday night.  I also finished my Sweet Georgia KAL socks (the previously frogged green socks), I have my loom rewarped and I think I know what I want to spin for the Tour de Fleece.

Now I that it is the long weekend (still have two more days of vacation) I have finished my mystery shawl, and by the end of the weekend I will be halfway on my Spectra scarf, maybe get the toes knit on my new Time-y Wime-y socks and into the fourth short row section of Secrets of Change in some Tosh Sock in Opaline.  Also, since finishing my green socks, I have been working on my latest plain Felici pair of socks and lunch, and maybe I will manage to get to the heels soon, but I'm not all that hopeful.  It won't be sport weight sock weather here till mid-Septeber/early-October, so I have lots of time, and three other pairs of Felici sport socks (and another skein waiting in the stash).

Also, I would love to get another scarf woven, mostly because the last one had a warp thread snap and now I'm wanting to get an adult size of the herringbone scarf done (rather than the kid sized one I made last time).

So I'm getting a bunch of FO posts to publish during the week, and I will try to stay on top of this blogging stuff, I do enjoy blogging and hopefully after a month of commuting I will finally not finding it not so deadly.

WIP Wednesday: June 13th

Wow, where has the time gone?

I'm loving my new job, I'm in my field of choice (environmental not-for-profit) but the two-hour commute is really killing me.  I have been working on my knitting, but blogging seems to have fallen off my radar, and unlike my last job I don't have time to blog while at work.

So I have quite a few things on my needles right now, but my loom and wheel are bare.  So right now I have two pairs of socks, on the left, my casserole socks, a good, wholesome plain pair I have been designing for Felici/self-striping sock yarns, and the right my Lettucefrog Socks that I started after my trip to the frog pond a few weeks ago.

I also have two lace weight shawls on the go, at the bottom you see my Leopold shawl has had no growth, I blame it on leaving my iPad at work so no pattern for a weekend, but realistically it is the Through the Loops Mystery Shawl (the red one) that has been taking up my lace knitting time.

Finally, I have my Spectra, (in the middle) which has really neat construction but the colorway I chose for the inside has a big, long greenish section so I haven't had all the color change excitement that this pattern has.

So, life is good, knitting is good, blogging is behind.  I have quite a few things to share and maybe this weekend I will get together some posts that can be sent during week.
