Hi I'm Christina Bossart, the fiber artist and instructor behind Lone/Maple Studio.

My affection for fiber goes back many years.  I first learned how to knit in high school, my aunt taught me how to knit dishclothes, you know the ones, garter stitch bias knit with the eyelet edging.  My first dish cloth looked like a stingray (the Handicrafter cotton was just so splitty) but I persevered, and knit many dishclothes, and then scarves.

I knit on and off through university where I studied Geography, never buying good LYS wool. Then a few years later in in grad school where I studied Community and Regional Planning, I discovered Ravelry, and my local LYS in Austin, Texas.  At that point it was off to the races, I have been an inveterate knitter since then.  In the summer of 2010, after discovering the Phat Fiber group on Ravelry and their sample box program, I decided I wanted to learn to spin. I picked up a few spindles, and then got a spinning wheel, an Ashford Traveller Double Drive, Double Treadle, for Christmas. In the spring of 2013 I traded my Traveller for a Schacht Ladybug.

Weaving is a newer craft, I got a Schacht Cricket loom in the spring of 2012 and learned the basics of Rigid Heddle weaving.  I had the great opportunity to take a multi-shaft loom weaving course from Jette Vandermeiden in the spring of 2013 and began working with a table loom.
